Sarah Parcak, a purported Egyptologist who focuses on ancient
architecture, claims to be an expert on obelisks such as that of the
shape of the Washington Monument. She exclaimed obelisks “might be
masquerading as a racist monument.”
“PSA For ANYONE who might be interested in how to pull down an
obelisk* safely from an Egyptologist who never ever in a million years
thought this advice might come in handy. *might be masquerading as a
racist monument I dunno,” Parcak tweeted on Sunday.
She went on to add a dozen tweets explaining how to destroy monuments.
She even drew a diagram in one.
In her final tweet, she sarcastically wrote, “ALSO PLEASE DO NOT PULL DOWN WASHINGTON MONUMENT.”
That final tweet was not a request that she be ignored, but a snarky
note winking her eye and telling fans she hopes it is torn down.
In another tweet, this traitor to her profession posted a tweet slyly calling the U.S.A. is a racist nation.
“As much as I love archaeology and Egyptology, we have to acknowledge
– esp now – their deeply racist, colonialist, and nationalist roots –
and ongoing practices. It is a field that has caused and continues to
cause enormous harm (see DNA research) We all can do so much better,”
she tweeted.
These are the people who are teaching your kids, folks.
