A little something I came across-
I accept Dr. Brophy's resignation. While it is the duty of faculty members to espouse academic freedom and advance historical accuracy, I and the Board of Trustees maintain that Dr. Brophy has overstepped this directive in suggesting that the University of Alabama used slave labor in an exploitative manner, or attempted to conceal the fact that the University did so, all during a time that slavery was legal and accepted under the laws of the United States. Speaking on behalf of the Board of Trustees, Alfred Brophy has created a divisive issue where there was none, and attempted to promote this issue to advance his own personal ends. We wish Dr. Brophy the best of luck in his future endeavors.

4:30 to 6 p.m. – Session One: Truth, Reconciliation and Apology with Alfred Brophy (“Considering Universities’ Moral Culpability For Slavery”),
Lord Anthony Gifford (“The Legal and Moral Basis of a Multi-Faceted Claim for Reparations”-check out what this crazy ass son of a bitch had to say:British attorney Lord Anthony Gifford's speech, which followed Brophy's, examined the legal and moral basis for reparations. Gifford emphasized that according to international law, reparations must come from the descendants of criminals who still profit. "Don't," he said, "let people think it all happened too long ago," adding that timing is less central to considering reparations than "how atrocious and lasting the crime is.")

Eh, all you stupid reparations proponents! Stop trying to tear down this country, even with its racist past that hurt many. If you'd spend your time more productively looking forward towards real community solutions rather than merely picking at the scabs of our horrific past so that the old racial wounds can never heal, we might take a step further in race relations together.
Your current preoccupation with reparations makes it clear that you are part of the problem - the cultural disconnect among blacks that's led to the entrenched ethics of victimization, separatism and anti-intellectualism - all to the detriment of black people. I think that black reparations proponents outta be called out by black leadership for poisoning the minds of yet another generation, telling them that whitey's out to get them, that they should not act "too white" by aspiring to the educational achievements of whites, Asians and well, almost everyone else including young white trash who, UNENCUMBERED BY THIS SELF DELUSIONAL, MISGUIDED BLACK REPARATIONS FIXATION,- leapfrog over black kids in the classroom and beyond, truly reaping the best from the fruits of the American Dream - including black immigrants! Start talking about what blacks are going to do for blacks, and how they can make MLK's hopeful statement about "content of their character" become a reality in black communities, instead of going assbackwards demanding what is owed. But that may be too painful for blacks to discuss politically now, huh?!? Takes more introspection than is possible, huh? Fuck Reparations! Educate you children!
